The National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) has announced that the 2020 national Cannabis Business Summit & Expo and Midwest Cannabis Business Conference will now take place in 2021. Based on the ongoing uncertainty around phased openings of specific states, the decision was made to ensure the most successful – and healthy – event for all exhibitors, sponsors, attendees, speakers, and partners.
The Midwest Cannabis Business Conference, originally scheduled for August 26-27, 2020 in Detroit, will now take place August 25-26, 2021 and will remain in the TCF Center. The Cannabis Business Summit & Expo, which would have been held September 29 – October 1, 2020 in San Francisco, will now occur August 3-5, 2021 and will also remain at Moscone Center.
NCIA’s 10th Annual Cannabis Industry Lobby Days, set to take place in Washington, D.C., September 15-17, 2020 will now take place May 25-27, 2021.
“While we are disappointed that we will not be hosting in-person events for the rest of the year, our first and foremost priority is the health and safety of our community,” said Aaron Smith, Chief Executive Officer of NCIA. “We will continue to deliver quality content, online networking, and serve our members to help them be as successful as possible in this ever-changing environment while we press on with our cannabis policy reform efforts in Congress.”
In lieu of the in-person events this year, NCIA will hold a virtual event showcasing its class-leading educational programming and continued focus on advocacy and community in serving the industry. This experience is scheduled for October 21-22, 2020. Details will be available soon. In addition, the association will continue to advocate on behalf of cannabis businesses and deliver relevant content associated with all markets, including those poised to regulate cannabis markets in the near future.
NCIA is pleased to announce a tentative schedule for 2021:
